Getting Started
Go to app.mutinyapp.gg and click Register. You'll need an email address and a username. We'll send a verification link to your email — click it to activate your account.
Once verified, you can start using the web app immediately, or download the desktop app for macOS or Windows.
You join a server using an invite link shared by the server admin. Here's how:
- Click the + button in the left sidebar.
- Select Join a Server.
- Paste the invite link you received and click Join.
If you don't have an invite link, ask your crew admin to generate one from Server Settings → Invites.
Desktop apps are available for macOS and Windows:
- macOS (Apple Silicon): Download .zip
- Windows (64-bit): Download .zip
Log in with the same credentials as the web app. Your servers and messages sync automatically.
Servers & Channels
- Click the + icon in the left sidebar.
- Select Create a Server.
- Give your server a name and icon.
- Create text and voice channels for your crew's topics.
- Head to Server Settings → Invites to generate an invite link and share it with your crew.
You're the owner — you control permissions, roles, and who gets in.
Right-click your server name in the sidebar and select Invite People, or go to Server Settings → Invites → Create Invite. Copy the link and share it however you like — message, email, wherever your crew hangs out.
You can set invites to expire after a set time or limit how many uses they get.
Server admins (and members with the Manage Emoji permission) can upload custom emoji and stickers:
- Go to Server Settings → Emoji or Stickers.
- Click Upload Emoji and select an image (PNG or GIF, under 256 KB).
- Give it a name — members use it with
:name:.
Voice & Screen Sharing
Click on any voice channel in the sidebar. You'll be connected automatically. Use the controls at the bottom of the screen to mute/unmute, deafen, or disconnect.
If you can't join, check that you have the Connect and Speak permissions for that channel. Ask your server admin if you need access.
Try these steps in order:
- Make sure you're not muted — check the mic icon in the bottom-left corner.
- Go to User Settings → Voice & Video and confirm the correct microphone is selected.
- Check your OS audio settings to ensure the app has permission to access your mic.
- Try disconnecting from the voice channel and rejoining.
- Restart the app.
If the problem persists, email us at support@mutinyapp.gg with your OS, app version, and a description of the issue.
While in a voice channel, click the Share Screen button (monitor icon) in the voice controls. Choose which screen or window you want to share.
Other members in the channel can click your stream thumbnail to watch. Click Stop Sharing when you're done.
Voice quality issues are usually network-related:
- Check your internet connection and try moving closer to your router.
- Close other applications that might be using a lot of bandwidth.
- If you're on a corporate or university network, it may be blocking certain ports. Try a mobile hotspot to test.
- Restart your router.
